Exceptional event: G7 summit

This evolving page informs you about exceptional events, demonstrations and construction works in the Geneva area for which tpg must adapt their service. 

Here you will find the main measures taken by tpg in the context of the G7 summit.

The G7 summit to be held in Evian-les-Bains (France) from June 15 to 17, 2026 will have impacts on mobility in Geneva and throughout the cross-border region. 

The authorities have already announced increased border controls between Switzerland and France, closed border crossings, and encouraged the population to work remotely where possible. In this context, the TPG (Geneva public transport company) is adapting its services during the summit period. 

The measures implemented on the TPG network are as follows

  • The holiday timetable will be applied across the entire network from June 15 to 17 inclusive , except for school lines which will operate according to the normal timetable.
    Cross-border lines , And will run according to their normal schedule.
     
  • The line will not be running on June 12, 13 and 14, 2026.
     
  • Cross-border lines: from June 12 to 17, the closure of several borders will have impacts on the route of the lines and some sections on French territory will not be served (see below).
    Lines that continue to cross the border may experience delays due to increased controls.
     
  • The Cornavin and Rive branches will be closed from Friday, June 12th. 
    The Cornavin branch will reopen on Friday, June 19th and the Rive branch will reopen on Monday, June 22nd. 
    The Lancy-Pont-Rouge branch will be exceptionally open on Saturday June 13, then from Monday June 15 according to its usual schedule.

During the period in question, to keep you informed about disruptions related to the G7 summit in real time, the following official information channels are available:

  • the traffic information section on tpg.ch;
  • tpg applications;
  • information terminals at bus stops;
  • The toll-free number 0800 858 900 , active from June 14 to 18 (late morning). 
    This dedicated number will allow you to obtain information on the state of the network, in connection with the summit, via regularly updated messages. 

Recommendations

We encourage you to anticipate and plan your journeys as much as possible, by checking real-time information through our various information channels before each trip. We also draw your attention to travel on cross-border lines which may experience delays due to measures taken at the borders.
