Special Event: G7 Summit

This regularly updated page provides information on events, special activities, and major construction projects in the Geneva area that require the TPG to adjust its services.

Here you will find the main measures taken by the tpg in connection with the G7 summit.

Updated on June 11, 2026

The G7 summit, to be held in Evian-les-Bains, France, from June 15 to 17, 2026, will have an impact on mobility in Geneva and throughout the cross-border region.

During this period, operations on the tpg network will be adjusted in accordance with the safety measures in place and traffic conditions. Some lines may experience significant disruptions or service reductions.

Line-by-line measures

On Sunday, June 14, the day of the No-G7 coalition demonstration, the situation will be managed in real time as the planned demonstration unfolds and its impact on tpg service becomes clear (see below, in the dedicated section). Tram line   will not be running at all, and tram line   will only run between Bachet-de-Pesay station and Plainpalais.

Authorities will close several border crossings between Switzerland and France starting in the mid-afternoon of Thursday, June 11

In addition, border checks will be stepped up, which may cause significant delays at open border crossings, including on tpg cross-border lines, which will continue to serve French territory (at open customs checkpoints).

The public is encouraged to minimize travel and work from home whenever possible.

In light of this situation and the decisions made by the authorities, tpg is adjusting its services during the summit.

The measures implemented on the tpg network are as follows

  • The holiday schedule will be in effect across the entire network from June 15 through June 17, inclusive, except for school bus routes, which will operate on their regular schedule.
Cross-border routes   and   will operate on their regular schedules.

  • Cross-border routes: From the afternoon of June 11 through June 17, the closure of several borders will affect route schedules, and certain sections within France will not be served (see below).
Trains that continue to cross the border may experience delays due to increased security checks.

Protest on Sunday, June 14, 2026

The cantonal authorities have granted conditional approval for the protest requested by the No-G7 coalition:

Sunday 14 June 2026, gathering from 3.00 pm at Mon Repos Park, with the march setting off from there.

The protest route is available one the website of the Canton of Geneva

As with any major demonstration in Geneva, TPG bus routes along the demonstrators’ route will need to be adjusted.

Our network is likely to experience significant disruption on that day, from the start to the end of service. The tram line   will not be running at all and the tram line   will only run between the station Bachet-de-Pesay and Plainpalais.

As with any major demonstration in Geneva, lines of the tpg network along the demonstrators’ route will need to be adjusted, and further changes may occur.

We anticipate that city centre lines will be particularly affected, especially those along the demonstration route. However, the measures taken may have a wider impact on the network due to operational requirements.

The situation will be managed in real time, on a case-by-case basis, depending on the progress of the demonstration and its impact on the network.

Please note that cross-border services will be subject to particular disruption from the afternoon of 11 June onwards, due to border closures and increased checks.

We recommend that you keep an eye on developments via the official information channels of the authorities (cantonal police, State of Geneva) and check the real-time tpg information channels before travelling during this exceptional period.
