A little history
The park owes its name to the wife of the owner Rodolphe Wilsdorf who, on discovering the idyllic point of view, allegedly exclaimed: "It's the pearl of the lake!"
In 1926, a Roman villa and thermal baths were discovered. The heirs to the property (now the Museum of the History of Science) sold it to the League of Nations, which also bought Moynier park. Three years later, the Geneva authorities authorized the construction of the Palais des Nations in the Ariana park, in exchange for the enjoyment of the Moynier and Perle du Lac parks, which opened to the public in 1929.
